God owns it all.

We are Stewards.

Every dollar, every gift, every breath belongs to God.
"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it."
— Psalm 24:1
God has called us to be good stewards of our resources.
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much."
— Luke 16:10.

Generosity is Discipleship.

Everyone has a next step.

How we handle money reveals how we follow Jesus. Giving isn't just a financial decision — it's a discipleship decision that shapes the heart.
"But since you excel in everything... see that you also excel in this grace of giving."
 — 2 Corinthians 8:7
Wherever you are on the journey, there's a faithful next step waiting for you.
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart..."
— 2 Corinthians 9:7

Q & A

Vision and Purpose

Why are we pursuing such a bold goal?
We believe God has given Second a vision to reach more people and serve our growing community. While pursuing this vision will require a significant investment, we believe the cost of inaction would be even greater.

In the Baytown and Mont Belvieu areas, approximately 60% of the community does not regularly attend church services.

Through the Multiply campaign, we want to create space for more people to discover truth, belonging, and purpose in Jesus. We believe this is the right time to move forward in faith.
What will the expansion and renovation project include?
The expansion will include a new Worship Center and a lobby. The renovation of the current Worship Center will connect the lobby, add a Next Steps Corner, a conference room, two multipurpose meeting rooms, and office space. A new playground will be added in the Education Building near the current children’s area.

These improvements will increase our campus capacity and provide more opportunities to worship, disciple, serve, and reach people throughout our community.

Project Cost & Funding

How much will the expansion and renovation cost?
The estimated total cost of the project is $14.5 million. This estimate includes construction of the new facilities as well as renovations to the current Worship Center and related campus improvements.
How did we determine the project’s estimated cost?
The estimate was developed with input from our construction team and is based on the project’s scope of work, current construction prices, national industry estimates, and costs associated with similar projects currently underway.

As the project progresses, costs and estimates may change. However, we believe the current estimate is realistic and consistent with comparable projects.
How does the $6.5 million campaign goal relate to the $14.5 million project cost?
The total project cost is estimated at $14.5 million. We currently have $3 million in our building fund, which has helped us begin moving the project forward. We anticipate borrowing approximately $5 million through lending institutions. The remaining $6.5 million will be raised through the Multiply campaign.
Will we need to incur debt to complete the project?
Yes. We currently estimate that we will need to borrow approximately $5 million to complete the project. Annual debt service is expected to remain below $600,000, which fits within our ongoing ministry budget.

Our goal is to ensure that regular ministry and missions funding is not reduced to cover building-related costs.

Giving to the Campaign

Are Multiply gifts intended to be above and beyond regular giving?
Yes. Multiply gifts are intended to be sacrificial contributions made in addition to regular giving. Through these gifts, we can expand our ministry reach and continue serving our community while the building project moves forward. The Multiply Campaign will take place over two years and will include three year-end giving opportunities in 2026, 2027, and 2028. Each person and family is encouraged to prayerfully consider how they can participate
If I want to give to the Multiply campaign, do I need to designate my gift?
Yes. When giving online, select Multiply from the designation menu. If you give by check or another written method, please write Multiply on your gift.

Construction & Timeline

Where will we worship while the project is under construction?
The project will be completed in phases. The first phase will focus on constructing the new facility. Once the new Worship Center is complete, Sunday worship services will move there, allowing us to begin renovating the current Worship Center.
What will happen to the current Worship Center?
The current Worship Center will be renovated to include a connecting lobby, a Next Steps Corner, a conference room, two multipurpose meeting rooms, and an office complex. These renovations will create additional space for ministry, meetings, discipleship, and church operations.
When will construction begin, and when is it expected to be completed?
Based on the current project schedule, we anticipate breaking ground in May 2027 and completing the project in June 2028. Timelines may change as the project progresses, and we will communicate significant updates to the congregation.

Staying Involved

How will the congregation receive updates about the project?
We will provide regular updates as the project progresses, including information about construction, timelines, finances, and ministry impact. Our goal is to keep the congregation informed and involved throughout each phase of the project.
How can I participate in the Multiply campaign?
You can participate by praying for the project, giving sacrificially above and beyond your regular giving, and helping share the vision with others. Every contribution and every prayer helps Second reach more people with the gospel and serve our community more effectively.
