Who We Are
Second Baytown Church employs a staff of servants ready to walk with you through whatever stage of life you may be in.
Tommy Clements serves as Senior Pastor of Second Baytown. He has served in this role since 1997. His main responsibilities include staff leadership, teaching the Word of God, and setting vision for Second Baytown. Tommy and his wife Susan are the parents of five sons and one daughter.
Associate Pastor of Second Baytown Church
Mark Stafford has served Second Baytown as Associate Pastor since 2000. Mark shares the teaching responsibilities with Tommy Clements. Mark's role also involves leadership of the pastoral staff and the spiritual development of Second's new members. Mark and his wife Laurie are the parents of one son and two daughters.
Worship Arts Pastor
Jack Hall has served as Second Baytown's worship arts pastor since 1987. Jack's responsibilities include the overall music and worship arts program as well as technical production. Jack also oversees Second's publicity and promotional efforts. Jack and his wife Jana are the parents of one son and a daughter.
Ruth Charlson has served as Second Baytown's Children's Minister since 2001. Ruth oversees the spiritual development of children from birth through 5th grade. Ruth and her husband Scott are the parents of one daughter.
Small Groups Pastor
Jim Herndon has served as our Small Groups pastor since July 2012. Jim is responsible for small group discipleship. In addition, he is leading our “First Impression” volunteers ministry which includes greeters, ushers, first responders, guest services, and parking lot team. He has over 12 years experience in various ministry areas. Jim and his wife Cassie have four children.
Director of Ministry Development
Jeremy serves as the Pastor of Ministry Development. He serves on the teaching team and is responsible for clarifying Second’s strategy for church planting and missional engagement. Jeremy also assists in encouraging ministry cohesion and member assimilation. Jeremy and his wife Kristen are the parents of one son.
Lead Student Pastor
Brandon White serves as the Lead Student Pastor at Second Baytown. He is responsible for student small groups and the discipleship process throughout the student ministry. Brandon is a graduate of Arlington Baptist College and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Brandon and his wife, Katie, have two sons Bearett and Leeland.
Administrative and Outreach Pastor
Dave Jirrels serves as the Administrative and Outreach Pastor. He joined the Church staff in August of 2013 and is responsible for the management aspect of Second which includes finances, budgets, and maintaining the buildings and grounds. He is also in charge of hospital visits, weddings, funerals, and counseling. Dave and his wife, Judy, have been members of Second since 1997 and have one daughter and four sons.
Jordan has served as the Creative Director since April 2014. Her responsibilities include providing art direction, creating artwork for sermon series, all print media, web upkeep, and keeping the congregation informed through email, and social media. She also works with our video team creating content. She graduated from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication.
Children's Ministry Associate
Aleesa serves as the Children's Ministry Associate. Her primary responsibilities include leading the preteen ministry, coordinating Kid's Club, and helping with special events. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Aleesa and her husband Richard are the parents of one son.
Dakota has served as the Technical Director since March of 2019. His responsibilities include overseeing the production of our weekly services as well as shooting and editing video content. He graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake with a Bachelors of Arts in Communication.
Associate Student Pastor
Falyn joined our staff in October of 2020. She is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Social Work. Her ministry includes planning all of the events that engage our students throughout the year as well as building intentional, discipleship-focused relationships with the girls in our ministry.
