Backpacks Filled with Hope

One of the greatest joys of being the Church is getting to be the hands and feet of Jesus in tangible ways. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Second Baytown family, we had the privilege of serving children through our Angel Tree Back-to-School Drive.

Angel Tree is a ministry that supports children with an incarcerated parent, reminding them that they are seen, loved, and never forgotten. As a church, we had the opportunity to help these students start the school year with the supplies they need and the encouragement they deserve.

Because of your faithful giving and willingness to serve, backpacks were filled, school supplies were provided, and families experienced the love of Christ in a practical way. While the backpacks are important, what matters most is the message they carry: God sees you, He loves you, and His people care about you.

As we begin a new school year, let's continue praying for these students, their caregivers, and their incarcerated parents. May God use every act of kindness to point families to the hope found in Jesus Christ.

Thank you, Second Baytown, for living out the love of Jesus so faithfully. Together, we're making a difference that reaches far beyond a backpack.

There's something special about getting away from the distractions of everyday life to spend intentional time with God—and that's exactly what happened at this year's Second Baytown Preteen Camp.

72 of our 3rd-5th graders and volunteers packed their bags and headed to camp for an unforgettable few days of worship, biblical teaching, small groups, recreation, and plenty of fun. Throughout the week, students built new friendships, strengthened existing ones, and, most importantly, took meaningful steps in their walk with Jesus.

Camp provides an environment where kids can hear God's voice, ask honest questions, and discover that following Jesus is the greatest adventure they can experience. From powerful worship services to late-night conversations with leaders, we saw God move in incredible ways through the lives of our preteens.

We're so thankful for the volunteers and leaders who invested their time, energy, and hearts into making this week possible. Their faithfulness created opportunities for students to be encouraged, challenged, and reminded that they are deeply loved by God.

To every family who trusted us with your child and to everyone who faithfully gives to the ministry of Second Baytown—thank you. Your generosity makes moments like these possible and helps us continue our mission of leading people to Jesus and making fully devoted followers of Him.

We can't wait to see how God continues to work in the lives of these students in the weeks and months ahead!

Every year, Second Baytown's Women's Ministry hosts Bible Brunch—a special morning for women to gather in worship, grow in God's Word, and enjoy meaningful fellowship over brunch. This year's event was an incredible blessing, with more than 230 women coming together to worship, connect, and encourage one another in their faith.
