What a God - SEU Worship
Have you ever stopped to think about how incredible God really is? Not just the idea of His greatness, but the ways He has personally worked in your own life.
It can be easy to overlook the ways God is moving around us. But when we slow down and truly reflect on who He is and what He has done, it can bring us to a place of wonder, gratitude, and peace. It also has a way of refocusing our hearts on what truly matters.
“What a God” begins by reflecting on who we were before finding Christ. One of the most difficult things to grasp is how the Creator of the universe could care so deeply about each of us individually. Even more incredible is the fact that He can redeem our mistakes and make a way for us to have a relationship with Him through the sacrifice of His Son on the cross, for us.
That is one of the most awe-inspiring things about God!
Not only did He create a path for us to have a relationship with Him, but Scripture reminds us just how personally He knows and cares for us. Luke 12 tells us that even the hairs on our heads are numbered. God sees us, knows us, and loves us in ways we may never fully understand.
What a God!
One of my favorite parts of this song is the bridge, which turns our attention back to what is truly valuable in this life. It is easy to place worldly goals at the center of our lives. We can become focused on social status, possessions, accomplishments, or the things we hope to achieve.
While those things are not necessarily bad, they were never meant to become the most important things in our lives.
The glory of God and the gift He has given us are sufficient and life-changing. In light of who He is and what He has done, everything else finds its proper place. This song reminds us that God's glory is always more valuable than anything the world has to offer.
God does not ask us to earn His love through perfection. Christ has already paid the price for our sin on our behalf. It is a gift we could never repay—and the incredible thing is, God does not ask us to.
He simply wants a relationship with us.
All of this because He loves us.
